- ➤ Genesee Health System gave $220,000 in grants to 22 local food pantries to boost hunger relief. Each pantry got $10,000 under a plan with the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan & local groups to expand their services. Flint Beat
- ➤ Eighteen coworkers in a Grand Blanc lottery club won a $1 million Powerball prize on Aug. 20 at a Speedway gas station on Perry Road. The group plans to play again as the jackpot grows. Mid-Michigan Now
- ➤ A Christmas giveaway event will take place in Beecher tomorrow at the Roma Banquet Center from 12 to 3 p.m. Locals can join to receive festive gifts & share in community cheer. ABC 12
- ➤ A group of 18 Grand Blanc coworkers won $1 million last summer when their ticket matched all five white balls at a Speedway gas station & they plan to play again for a $1 billion jackpot this Saturday. ABC 12

- ➤ Cocina Mio, a well-loved restaurant serving tacos and birria at 3322 Davison Road, will close on Dec. 24 after nine years in business. Owner Victoria Coronado thanked the community and said she will keep patrons updated on her Facebook page as she plans her next chapter. MLive
